Lambda Chi Alpha is dedicated to hosting at least one philanthropy event each quarter of the school year. Watermelon Bust is the largest philanthropy that Lambda Chi Alpha provides to the community. The event is partnered with Feeding America, a non-profit organization that is a nationwide network of food banks. In 2014, over 612 pounds of canned food were donated to Feeding America from the Watermelon Bust Philanthropy.

Phi Sigma Zeta was awarded the Tozier Brown Public Affairs Award in the summer of 2015. This award was given to our chapter by the headquarters of Lambda Chi Alpha for their dedication to their community service and philanthropy activities.

ΛΧΑ's Phi-Sigma chapter presents it's 4th annual Watermelon Bust. The event raised over $4,000 & 2,300 cans for the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo. Thank you to the sororities that participated in the event (Alpha Phi, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Omicron Pi, Chi Omega, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, & Sigma Kappa) & our sponsors (Spencer Makenzie's SLO & The Social Life)!
