Lambda Chi Alpha is dedicated to hosting at least one philanthropy event each quarter of the school year. Watermelon Bust is the largest philanthropy that Lambda Chi Alpha provides to the community. The event is partnered with Feeding America, a non-profit organization that is a nationwide network of food banks. In 2014, over 612 pounds of canned food were donated to Feeding America from the Watermelon Bust Philanthropy.

Phi Sigma Zeta was awarded the Tozier Brown Public Affairs Award in the summer of 2015. This award was given to our chapter by the headquarters of Lambda Chi Alpha for their dedication to their community service and philanthropy activities.

Cal Poly's Lambda Chi Alpha chapter hosted their signature philanthropy event - Watermelon Bust - and raised over $1500 and 500 lbs of food for Feeding America. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event. Congrats to Alpha Chi Omega for winning Watermelon Bust 2017!
